What is 3D mapping?
3D mapping is the process of taking a large number of overlapping images taken by hand, or by drone, and delivering highly precise, georeferenced 2D maps and 3D models.
How is it done?
Drone
Camera captures overlapping images while in motion.
Computer Vision
Identifies and matches thousands of keypoints.
Photogrammetry
Extracts geometry to calculate camera position for generating accurate maps and 3D models. Highly accurate measurements and calculations can be made, as well as exported to CAD programs for adding proposed developments etc.
